Phoenix Equine wins an Award for excellence of service and client care

22nd July 2021

Phoenix win award image for news article We are so excited to win ‘Horse Care Company of the Year’ at the Prestige Awards for the South West for 2020/21.

The Corporate Livewire Prestige Awards recognise small and medium-sized businesses that have proven to be the best in their market over the past 12 months. All shortlisted companies put forward in the Prestige Awards are asked to support their nomination with evidence of their work, positive feedback from their clients, information on previous accreditation and recognition, as well as highlighting the most outstanding parts of their businesses.

The judging panel base their decisions upon areas such as service excellence, quality of the product/ service provided, innovative practices, value, ethical or sustainable methods of working, as well as consistency in performance.

The winners selected are those who can best demonstrate their strengths in these areas.

We are so grateful to our clients for their nominations. The award came as a very welcome surprise to us and is a great present to the whole team just after our third birthday!

SignVideo service for deaf clients

3rd February 2020

We are delighted to announce a new SignVideo service for our deaf clients who use British Sign Language (BSL).

The free SignVideo service for deaf clients who use British Sign Language (BSL) works using video calls connected to fully qualified BSL interpreters and enables deaf clients to communicate through SignVideo either by calling the practice from home or when they attend the practice with their pet, for consultations, to pick up food, medication or for advice etc.

A client will need their own smartphone, computer or device with video and sound and their own data to use the service. The service is accessed by clicking on the SignVideo practice link from the practice contact us page on the website or using the SignVideo app.

You don’t need to go to the Horse Health Programme practice finder referred to in the video if you are already viewing this video from our practice website, you can access the Sign Video link from the Contact us Page on our website.

New veterinary surgeon

13th November 2019

Charlotte Harrisson, new vetWe are really pleased to welcome Charlotte Harrisson as the latest addition to our veterinary team (November 19).

Charlotte attained her veterinary degree from Liverpool University having previously completed a degree in Animal Science at Hartpury College.

Charlotte has a special interest in sarcoids and during her time at Liverpool she completed a research project into these lesions. As Liverpool has been regarded as a centre of excellence in this field, we are extremely proud to have Charlotte at our practice.

She has also spent time in The Gambia treating horses and donkeys there.

Outside work Charlotte enjoys all things outdoors. In particular she likes to spend time riding her horse Alfie on Woodbury Common. Alfie is an ex flat racehorse who she retrained to competing in dressage. She also loves spending time walking out on the moors.

Charlotte says:  “I feel very lucky to be joining an amazing team at Phoenix Equine and I can’t wait to begin to meet our clients and their four legged friends!”

For more information about Charlotte, or the rest of our team, see our meet the team pages.
